At OHSAH, our Disease Prevention program focuses on keeping healthcare workers healthy and safe from chemical, biological and environmental hazards. Our Occupational Hygienists play a vital role in:
- Evaluating the workplace for hazards and potential dangers and assessing their level of risk.
- Making recommendations on improving the safety of workers by eliminating harmful substances, implementation of engineering and administrative controls, as well as suggesting personal protective equipment options.
- Training and educating healthcare workers about job-related risks.
- Participating in the development of health and safety best practices guidelines to improve working conditions.
- Consulting with our stakeholders to support compliance with occupational regulations for healthcare
