To address province-wide Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) needs, OHSAH has committed - and will continue to commit to provide a web-based Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) system that is focused on the needs of healthcare facilities.

The system allows healthcare visitors to search and view MSDSs via the internet and substantially reduces the amount of time and effort needed to find, establish and maintain an MSDS library. Through an online request form, visitors merely notify OHSAH of the need for an MSDS, and the document is obtained and included in the database. MSDSs within the database are compiled to match specific facility and department inventories, allowing visitors to readily access information relevant to their workplace.
